Organisational values, in everyday practice
A statement on the wall is a starting point. The useful question is what happens in the room.
Translate a value into behaviour
If openness is a stated value, what happens when someone disagrees in a meeting? Choose an ordinary situation and describe what the value would look like there. Make the description observable rather than aspirational.
Look at the conditions
People work within incentives, deadlines and decision structures. Ask whether these support the behaviour being requested. Inviting honest feedback while penalising delay, for example, can create competing expectations.
Test one working agreement
Agree a small change to a recurring practice and a time to review it. Ask whose experience you have not yet heard. A single workshop does not establish a culture; it can begin a more specific conversation about everyday choices.
A question to take with you
Which routine in your organisation best reveals its values in action?
Editorial guides offer general reflection, not a personalised coaching plan.
